Rules of Panobook 2016 contest


The contest organizer is KOLOR, Parc d'activité Alpespace, 112 Voie Albert Einstein, Bât. Saturne, 73800 Francin, FRANCE.

KOLOR company is also the sponsor of the publishing of a collective work of panoramic photographs (book).
ICELAND PHOTO TOURS, MSI, MANFROTTO, EXPRESSION and DAYMEN companies sponsor part of the prizes offered to the 3 winners.


The Panobook 2016 contest opens on February 2, 2016 at 12:00:00 French time (GMT + 1:00) and ends on March 3, 2016 at 09:00:00 French time (GMT + 1:00).

Participation Conditions

Participation in the contest is free and requires no obligation to purchase.

The contest is international, open to any real person, adult-age or not.
Those who directly or indirectly participated in organizing the contest, their beneficiaries and staff members of the KOLOR company are excluded.

How to Participate


First, it is advisable that all participants become aware of the General Conditions of Participation before registering in the contest.
In any case, a validation of the General Conditions of Participation is required from the participant at registration.

Customers of the KOLOR company may participate by logging directly into their customer accounts with their user details on the interface:
Participants who are not customers of the KOLOR company may participate by creating an account on the same interface:
Participants who have already participated may log in directly with the same customer detailed used for previous contests.
Only on-line registration shall be accepted.

Warning: Signing up several times in order to submit more than 3 panoramas shall lead to immediate disqualification.

Participation Procedure:

  1. Log into your account or create your account on this page:
  2. Fill out the registration form.
  3. Confirm that you accept all conditions defined in the Copyright Release Waiver.
  4. Add a panorama.
  5. Give your file a title, define its category and enter technical information, then add a comment if desired.


  • Each participant may submit a maximum of 3 panoramas.
  • The title, technical information and comments will be published in the book, so take the time to enter them as best as possible
  • Please enter this information in English or French.


Every panorama must fulfill the following conditions:

Technical Restrictions:

  • Type: Any printed submission shall not be accepted. Only digital submission are acceptable, and sent using the file-sending form.
  • Size: The acceptable size limit is 3 MB minimum and 30MB maximum. Beyond this, it will not be possible to submit an image using the file-sending form.
  • File format: Each panorama must be in JPEG or JPG format. Other formats are not supported.
  • Definition: The smallest dimension (width or height depending on the composition) must be at least 1000 pixels. Panoramas whose smallest dimension is less than 1000 pixels will not be admitted.
  • Resolution : The selected panoramas are printed, their resolution must be 300 dpi. Panoramas whose resolution is less will not be admitted.
  • Shot date: Photos must have been taken within two (2) years prior to the entry date and must not have previously won a prize in a Panobook Contest nor published in a Panobook publication.

Composition :

  • Standard type or cropped photos are not acceptable. Only panoramas created with at least 2 images stitched are accepted (partial and full spherical panoramas and regardless of the software used).
  • Watermarks and signatures shall not be accepted.
  • Frames, borders and backgrounds shall not be accepted.
  • Color correction, HDR and all types of projection are acceptable.

General Rules:

  • Panoramas must not include elements which are derogatory, harmful, obscene, pornographic, racist, shocking, illegal or which breach good moral standards.
  • Panoramas must be entirely unique and original works taken by the contest participant.
  • By registering, the participant represents, recognized and guarantees that any panorama submitted is an original work created exclusively by himself/herself, does not violate any copyright of authorship, brand, moral rights, property rights or rights of confidentiality, publicity or intellectual rights, of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, entitlement or claim to or interest in this panorama, so that KOLOR may be concerned in any way to this effect.


  • Participants may use sharing means (Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.) to announce their participation in the contest.
  • They alone shall take the initiative and responsibility for providing their contacts’ email addresses and release the organizing company from any responsibility for sending an email to their contacts.
  • KOLOR shall not store or reuse these emails.


Partcipants grant KOLOR all rights of reproduction, use and publication of images, submitted freely and non-exclusively, for the promotion of the publication of the collection work of panoramic photographs (Panobook).
This includes the right to publish submitted images on KOLOR’s social networks, the site and, as well as any other media linking to the contest (websites, printed magazines… etc.).
KOLOR shall not use submitted images for any pay media other than the collection work of panoramic photographs (Panobook).


Voting is carried out by 3 photography professionals (jury ) invited by KOLOR.

The voting process is carried out in 3 phases:

  • The first phase is carried out by KOLOR directly, consisting of removing images which do not comply with participation conditions, technical or composition restrictions.
  • The second phase is carried out by the jury to select the 150 top panoramas from all remaining submissions.
  • The third phase is also carried out by the jury, consisting of determining the 3 winning images from the selected panoramas.


First prize

  • the trophy of "KOLOR Best Panoramic Photographer 2016"
  • the media exposure (publishing + interview) by Landscape Photography Magazine
  • 8 days photo workshop in Iceland by Iceland Photo Tours
  • a workstation laptop by MSI
  • 3 prints of a subject of choice on Epson Semigloss 250g paper with a maximum size of 300x150 cm offered by EXPRESSION - l'Atelier du Visuel
  • the winning picture will be published in the first part of the book (section dedicated to the winners)

Second prize
